SALT Essential IT is celebrating our 11th birthday this year, and are very proud to be the largest Namibian owned IT Service Provider operating on International Industry Standards.

We have a very different approach to IT service provision. SALT has been involved in building some of the best IT Infrastructures in the country. We analyze needs, design and build a reliable platform, to ensure day to day operations run smoothly all while planning for future expansion.

We are able to provide an all encompassing IT Service as we build and maintain our own Data Centre’s from which our services are managed. Our customers typically run some business applications on hardware which resides partially at the customer (PCs, printers, one or more servers) and partially at SALT’s Data Centre. The exact make-up of what resides where is tailored to the customer’s needs.

Our model is widely practiced in industrialized countries and, excepting for those who have been receiving service from us for more than 10 years now, is still a new concept to many in Namibia.

Systems operating from our Data Center are guaranteed to be up 24/7 (in excess of 99% of all time) especially since we have customers with requirements beyond 8 to 5. All data residing on our platforms is backed up on replicated hard disks, and tape, which is stored off site. We back up essential services at a disaster recovery site belonging to Telecom Namibia. Anti Virus, spam protection and other security issues are dealt with to international Data Centre standards, the likes of which most Namibian companies cannot afford.
