I meant we have what it takes to make ICT a success in the land of the brave, we just lack skills in working together as a country, but we have all in place, with the new WACS on its way i believe we have a great opportunity to fullfill our dream.

there are less locally made programmers because that field does not give scholarships to students compared to Systems Admin; so students end up opting for Sys Admin.

Am looking forward to gather with both veterans and newbies again this year to trade tricks and tips. This is the only platform that I know of in Namibia where ICT professionals can meet at a broad scale to discuss ways to improve ICT for all of Namibia. The Telecom Namibia ICT summit have really became something I look forward to every year. Thanks Telecom!

[quote name="Evidence"]True that Eugene, but just notice once again when you get there this year, most people are just there for meals, drivksd and bags handed out there, after the summit they just talk about great meals they where treated to but forget the main aim of the summit ICT....wake up, food will get us nowhere........... 8)

Seeing that it is an ICT summit, i surely ecpect that there will be internet connection available, so that i can access my work email while i am attending the summit. Because i definitely will attend.

I am particularly interested in the presentations on cloud computing. With the landing of WACS "the cloud" is definitely going to cover Africa

it's an ICT Summit and we expect manual registration? sad that we want to drag our-self back. We are talking about Cloud Computing, Tele-working,Team viewer,... So don't expect us to think of late and manual registration. Else there wouldn't be a need of such an event.

I want to attend the summit but the registration is already over.I got a doubt with the IT certification e.g A+,N+ Cisco certification once you take these to NQA for evaluation they said it doesn`t fall within their flame work,so they cannot evaluate it.

Imagin this international stardand but cannot be.Namibia common peaple let us come up with the body that can consider the IT qualification,t o avoind compromising with stardard, please common Namibian on this matter

this year (2011) summit was poorly advertised. more students and lecturers need to attend such event. and its a good opportunity for student with their qualification and gaining ICT knowledge.

Let us not only put the blame on others(Telelcom ), lets focus on how to gain this experience, cause trust me this students and teachers have access to internet on a daily bases but use it only for social networking which holds no future for them..........GET SERIOUS AND LEAVE THIS FACEBK, TWEETER, MYSPACE FOR LATER.........
